7: To have such lawsuits at all is a real defeat for you. Why not just accept the injustice and leave it at that? Why not let yourselves be cheated?
Romans 12:17
- Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable.
- Do your part to live in peace with everyone, as much as possible.
- Dear friends, never avenge yourselves. Leave that to God. For it is written, "I will take vengeance; I will repay those who deserve it," says the Lord.
1 Peter 2:19
- For God is pleased with you when, for the sake of your conscience, you patiently endure unfair treatment.
- Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing right and are patient beneath the blows, God is pleased with you.
- This suffering is all part of what God has called you to. Christ, who suffered for you, is your example. Follow in his steps.
- He never sinned, and he never deceived anyone.
- He did not retaliate when he was insulted. When he suffered, he did not threaten to get even. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly.
1 Peter 3:9
- Don't repay evil for evil. Don't retaliate when people say unkind things about you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God wants you to do, and he will bless you for it.
Proverbs 20:22
- Don't say, "I will get even for this wrong." Wait for the LORD to handle the matter.
